Background
At 9:26 p.m., March 20, 1950, over Stuggart, Arkansas, a Chicago & Southern Airlines captain and his first officer observed a 100-foot saucer for half a minute. They noted 9-12 portholes along the lower side that emitted soft purple light. At the top a light flashed three times in a 9-second span. The pilots adjudged its velocity upon leaving as not less than 1,000 mph. Project Grudge left this case unidentifiable as well.
The detailed observation by professional airline pilots β including estimated size, porthole count, light patterns, and departure velocity β made this one of the better-documented 1950 sightings.
