Davis, California: Multiple UFO Sightings with Military Interception

Initial Sightings On August 15, 1952, at 4:20 a.m., Ground Observer Corps observers stationed in Davis, California detected a distinctive round object displaying rainbow coloration hovering in the vicinity. Within minutes, eight additional objects of unusual configuration became visible to the spotters.

Secondary Observations At 5:30 a.m., two more craft were observed, with one traveling westward and another moving eastward across the sky. Approximately one hour earlier, at 5:00 a.m., observer Diane Robinson at a GOC post in Napa, California reported sighting a metallic, elongated vessel traveling at considerable velocity toward the southwest at an altitude of 10,000 feet.

Military Response The United States Air Force responded by dispatching an F-94 jet interceptor to conduct aerial reconnaissance at altitudes between 10,000 and 20,000 feet. Military officials subsequently claimed the pilot observed nothing anomalous, yet ground observers maintained that both the unidentified objects and the military aircraft were simultaneously visible in the sky, potentially at comparable altitudes.
