Witness and Observation Alfred N. Phillips, a farmer near Orangeville, Ontario, observed an unidentified craft on the evening of January 17, 1956. The sighting occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. and lasted roughly 7 seconds.

Physical Characteristics The object appeared as a disk-shaped craft approximately 100 feet in length and 50 feet in depth. It hovered about 150 feet away and 50 feet above a snowy field. The craft emitted a brilliant white glow and featured three luminous rings that rotated around its mid-section.

Behavior and Movement The craft remained silent throughout the observation. It initially hovered stationary, then brightened considerably before rising upward with increasing velocity. The object subsequently spiraled into the sky until disappearing among the stars.

Additional Details Phillips' wife remained inside the farmhouse during the event and did not witness the sighting. The observation was documented in contemporary newspaper accounts and later compiled in UFO history references.
