White Sands Proving Grounds: Military Police Observe Egg-Shaped Objects Descending Near Bunkers
On November 3, 1957, hours after the Levelland wave, military police at White Sands Proving Grounds reported a brilliant red-orange egg-shaped object descending to 50 yards above a bunker β three separate patrols over 12 hours.
Background
First Patrol (3:00 a.m.)
Just hours after the spectacular series of sightings around Levelland, Texas, at the White Sands Proving Grounds, New Mexico, a tantalizing series of encounters ensued. Two military policemen were patrolling about 3:00 a.m. when they spotted a brilliant red-orange, egg-shaped object descending to about 50 yards above a bunker; it suddenly vanished. A few minutes later it blinked on again and descended at an angle toward the same bunker, only to disappear once more.
Second Patrol (10:20 a.m.)
Seven hours later at 10:20 a.m., two military policemen patrolling White Sands observed a brilliant red-orange, egg-shaped object descend to within 50 yards of a bunker, then vanish. Minutes later it blinked on again, descended on a slant, and disappeared in broad daylight. A search party found no trace.
Third Patrol (8:00 p.m.)
About 8:00 p.m. that evening, a separate patrol spotted a brilliant light, 200-300 feet long, over the same bunker. The light pulsated as it ascended slowly at an angle, then imploded to a point of light and disappeared.
Significance
Three separate military police patrols observed objects over the same bunker at White Sands within 17 hours, coinciding with the Levelland wave.
