Incident Overview

On the morning of April 25, 1964, witness J. D. Hatch was traveling along US Highway 70 between Mescalero and Tularosa, New Mexico when he observed a bright, oval-shaped object descending from the sky. The craft appeared to land on the opposite side of Round Mountain, located east of Tularosa.

Significance

The proximity of both events in southern New Mexico and their temporal connection have made them subjects of comparative UFO research.
