Background

For four days, Turkey's capital Ankara was inundated with sightings. The Turkish Air Force repeatedly scrambled interceptors from Murtad Air Base. The jets would close to within several miles, but the unknowns always climbed higher to escape.

Base Commander's Report

After days of cat-and-mouse, the base commander himself flew along. His report afterward noted that an object at 50,000 feet was oval and silvery, with three round portholes on the facing side. He added that no other country's traffic was in the area at the time and no prototype was under test. The interceptors took gun-camera film, which was never released.
