The Incident
The boys encountered two saucer-shaped objects near a vineyard.
One object allegedly landed.
A humanoid being approximately 120 cm tall emerged from it.
Witness Description
The being had:
- large pointed ears
- wrinkled brown skin
- three silver teeth
It reportedly touched one boy on the shoulder before returning to the craft, which then took off.
The boys ran home in terror.
Investigation
They told their parents, who found ring-shaped impressions at the described landing site.
A teacher and several adults visited the site the next day and confirmed the ground markings.
Significance
The Kōfu case became one of Japan's best-known close encounter reports.
