On May 14, 1978, at the Navy's Pinecastle Electronic Warfare Range in Florida's Ocala Forest, a civilian reported a 50-60-foot oblong UFO. Jacksonville ATC confirmed no conventional aircraft. At 11:20 p.m. the radar detected a jetliner-sized object at 50-100 feet off the ground, which abruptly vanished. About midnight, a target decelerated from 500 to 2 knots in one second, reversed direction, and disappeared.
