China Boeing 747 Near-Collision: Six-Mile Elliptical Object at 33,000 ft
On June 11, 1985, over China, a Boeing 747 airliner flying from Beijing to Paris encounters an unknown object at 33,000 feet. The object crosses in front of the airliner's path at very fast speed. It appears to be elliptical, bright, and extremely large, with three horizontal rows of bluish-white lights. The sighting lasts two minutes. No passengers report seeing the object.
