The incident occurred in September 2005 when the witness experienced several anomalous events over consecutive nights. She reported discovering a clear-to-yellowish dried material on her stomach and belly button upon waking, which caused itching and flaked off when scratched. The material did not appear on her clothing or bedding, and she had no medical explanation for its presence.
Following advice from Richard Lee, the witness preserved Q-tips used to collect samples of the substance. She also reported additional strange occurrences, including waking upside down in her bed and experiencing unexplained weight loss of approximately ten pounds overnight. Medical tests confirmed she was not pregnant, ruling out one potential explanation for the material.
Laboratory analysis revealed the sample contained ammonium sulfate and protein-based material from a biological source, possibly human bodily fluids such as lymph, mucus, or blood plasma. The substance also exhibited fluorescence under UV light. While the specific origin remained unidentified, the analyst concluded the biological material likely originated from the witness herself.
