Portland OR: Strobing Sphere at Intersection, 40-60 Minutes Missing Time
At approximately 05:35 on 12 July 2009, three young adults driving through Portland, Oregon encountered an intensely bright strobing spherical light at the intersection of Interstate Avenue and Killingsworth Street. The object was roughly 90 centimeters in diameter and hovered approximately 1.8 meters above ground level beside their vehicle.
Following the encounter, the witnesses discovered that 40 to 60 minutes could not be accounted for. The primary female witness found unexplained puncture marks and bruising on her forearms the following morning. Her two male companions exhibited a trance-like state during and after the event and retained almost no memory of the incident.
The case was investigated under the MUFON/BAASS framework and documented as one of several physiological-effect cases reported during the 2009 AAWSAP investigation period, combining temporal anomaly with physical evidence on the witness.
