DIA Confirms 2009 AATIP Review Existence
Former DIA spokesperson James Kudla publicly confirmed that OSD and DIA conducted a review of the aerial threat program in late 2009. His statement indicated the project was deemed of limited value to the agency.
Background
On March 11, 2019, James M. Kudla, previously serving as a public affairs officer at the Defense Intelligence Agency, verified that a joint evaluation occurred in late 2009. The assessment examined reports from the mysterious aerospace project and concluded they offered limited utility to military intelligence officials. Kudla noted recommendations existed to transfer oversight to another government component upon contract completion.
