Background
Beginning at 9:38 p.m. on December 16, 2024, a civilian reported multiple unmanned vehicles near Area B. Base security confirmed sightings near the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, describing grouped lights moving at high altitude. Throughout the night, personnel tracked objects hovering above gates, crossing the Area A flightline, and maneuvering near base facilities. A particularly concerning observation involved an unknown aircraft descending to within 500 feet of the flightline before ascending and disappearing. The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed no authorized aircraft were operating in the area. Visual contact ceased by 12:30 a.m., with the formal response terminating at 1:00 a.m. after extensive security operations.
