Galileo Project Publishes First Observatory Data with 144 Unresolved Trajectories

The Galileo Project at Harvard University published commissioning results from its first permanent multi-sensor observatory. Over five months in 2024, 500,000 sky trajectories were recorded, of which approximately 16% required further review. After automated analysis, 144 trajectories remained unexplained. The system nicknamed 'Dalek' operates eight uncooled infrared cameras plus optical, radio, magnetic, and audio sensors for continuous all-sky coverage. The preprint entered peer review concurrent with a Congressional UAP hearing.

Background

In 2024, the Galileo Project, led by Harvard professor Avi Loeb, published its first dataset from a purpose-built UAP observatory deployed in Massachusetts. The initial data release contained 144 trajectories that could not be resolved to known objects, marking the first systematic scientific effort to detect and characterize UAP using dedicated instrumentation.
