Background

AAWSAP (Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program) was a classified U.S. government research initiative created in 2008 with support from Nevada Senator Harry Reid. The program was operated by the Defense Intelligence Agency and contracted to Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS).
