Aeroflot Soviet Airlines
Aeroflot Soviet Airlines, the state-owned flag carrier of the Soviet Union, originated from Dobrolet founded in 1923 and was formally established as Aeroflot in 1932. Headquartered in the USSR, it was a government entity controlling all civil aviation, including passenger, mail, and cargo services domestically and internationally from 1936. Key activities encompassed operating vast domestic networks across the USSR, pioneering jet services with the Tu-104 in 1956, and deploying aircraft like the Yak-40 and Tu-154. Notable achievements include becoming the world's largest airline by passengers, serving over 50 million annually by 1970. No documented involvement in UAP/UFO research or government programs exists in available records. Following the Soviet dissolution in 1991, it ceased as Aeroflot Soviet Airlines in 1992, restructured into Aeroflot-Russian Airlines, now a private joint-stock company.
