Cooper Nuclear Station
Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS) is a boiling water reactor nuclear power plant owned and operated by the Nebraska Public Power District, a public utility in the United States. Construction began in 1968, with commercial operations starting in 1974. Located near Brownville, Nebraska, it is the state's largest single-unit generator, producing approximately 835 megawatts of carbon-free electricity, powering over 385,000 homes. It employs around 730 full-time staff and contributes significantly to the local economy with $66 million in annual benefits. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission renewed its license in 2010, extending operations to 2034. No records link CNS to UAP/UFO research, government programs, or related fields; it focuses solely on nuclear power generation, safety, and reliability.
