CSI-LA (Civilian Saucer Investigation, Los Angeles) was a civilian UFO research group founded in 1953 in the United States. It collected and investigated UFO sightings, amassing nearly 1000 first-hand reports from the late 19th century onward, shared with the U.S. Air Force's Air Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC). Key activities included rigorous case evaluations by a panel and producing four newsletters. Mentioned in a 1952 LIFE magazine article, it received global reports but ceased operations in 1954 amid pressures, including Robertson Panel concerns over civilian groups' influence. Files transferred to NICAP and later CUFOS. Notable for early systematic UFO archiving; now defunct.
