Department of Homeland Security
government
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is a U.S. federal executive department founded in 2002, responsible for protecting the nation's borders, infrastructure, and citizens. In the context of UAP/UFO research, DHS was approached in the 2010s with a proposal for a program code-named 'Kona Blue' to reverse-engineer any recovered extraterrestrial spacecraft. DHS leadership rejected this proposal for lacking merit, and the program never recovered any otherworldly craft. DHS continues to collaborate with other federal agencies on national security matters, including monitoring of unidentified aerial phenomena that may pose threats to restricted airspace and national defense.
