Força Aérea Brasileira
Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB), the Brazilian Air Force founded in 1941, is a government military organization responsible for aerial defense and air operations in Brazil. In the context of UAP/UFO research, the FAB has been instrumental in investigating unidentified aerial phenomena. The organization established the Integrated Center of Air Defense and Air Traffic Control (Cindacta) and the Brazilian Air Defense Command (Comdabra), both of which detect and record UFO phenomena. On May 19, 1986, during the notable 'Night of the UFOs,' the FAB scrambled five fighter jets to intercept 21 unidentified flying objects detected by radar across four Brazilian states. The FAB created the Unidentified Aerial Object Investigation System (SIOANI) in 1969 to scientifically investigate UFO phenomena. Documents from FAB investigations are housed in Brazil's National Archive and remain the most visited collection there.
