Naval Inspector General
military
The Naval Inspector General is a U.S. Navy office that serves as the internal watchdog for the Department of Defense and Navy operations. Established as part of the DoD Inspector General system, it conducts evaluations and investigations into military activities, including the handling of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP). In 2021, the Naval Inspector General launched an evaluation to determine the extent to which the DoD has taken actions regarding UAP, examining offices across the Secretary of Defense, Military Services, and Combatant Commands. The office has issued reports identifying gaps in UAP policy coordination and national security protocols.
