UAP Task Force
government
The Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF) was a U.S. government program operating from 2020 to 2021, managed by the Office of Naval Intelligence under the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence. It standardized collection and reporting of UAP sightings following the 2017 confirmation of prior UFO programs. Key activities included analyzing military encounters, culminating in the June 2021 ODNI Preliminary Assessment on 144 cases from 2004-2021, where 143 remained unidentified, 18 showed unusual patterns, but no extraterrestrial links were found. Notable achievements: spurred creation of AARO in 2022. Now disbanded.
