Distributed Ground System-1

The Distributed Common Ground System-1 (DGS-1), part of the U.S. Air Force's AF DCGS, is a core node of the premier globally networked ISR weapon system. Established around 1994 with initial deployment to Guantanamo Bay, it operates from Langley AFB, Virginia, as a U.S. government military program. Key activities include processing, exploiting, and disseminating intelligence from platforms like U-2, RQ-4 Global Hawk, MQ-9 Reaper, and MQ-1 Predator, connecting 45+ sites worldwide via the Defense Intelligence Enterprise. Notable achievements encompass support for global operations (UN, NATO, CENTCOM) and evolution from deployable to distributed ISR capability under the 480th ISR Wing. Currently active, managed by active-duty, Guard, and Reserve units.
