Achille Zaghetti is an Italian airline pilot from Grosseto, Tuscany, whose nationality is Italian. On April 21, 1991, while captaining an Alitalia McDonnell Douglas MD-80 from Milan to London Heathrow, he encountered a UFO during descent over Lydd, Kent, at 22,000 feet. Zaghetti and his co-pilot observed a three-meter-long, khaki or light brown, missile-shaped object streak 300 meters in front of their aircraft for 3-4 seconds, flying on an opposite track 1,000 feet higher. He urgently radioed 'Look out! Look out!' and queried air traffic control, whose radar confirmed the object 10 nautical miles behind. A British Ministry of Defense investigation ruled out a missile, leaving the incident unexplained. This close encounter is documented in declassified UK UFO files and aviation UFO case studies, marking Zaghetti's key contribution as a credible military aviator witness to UAP phenomena.
