Art Bell
Arthur William 'Art' Bell III (1945–2018) was an American radio broadcaster and paranormal researcher who became the pioneering host of Coast to Coast AM, a late-night radio program featuring open, unscreened calls about UFOs, Area 51, and government conspiracy theories. Based in Pahrump, Nevada, Bell created a platform for discussing unexplained phenomena and alternative theories, including his own UFO sightings. He gained significant attention in the late 1990s for reporting rumors about a UFO allegedly trailing Comet Hale–Bopp, though he later helped publicize expert refutations of these claims. A U.S. Air Force veteran who served as a medic during the Vietnam War, Bell set a Guinness World Record for a 116-hour solo broadcast marathon and became known as the father of paranormal talk radio.
