Capt. Moriano Mohaupt
Captain Mariano Mohaupt is an Argentine Air Force (AAF) officer who served as spokesman for the AAF and played a pivotal role in the 2011 launch of the Commission for the Investigation of Aerospace Phenomena (CIFA), an official civilian-military body to scientifically study UFO sightings. Argentine by nationality, Mohaupt presided over the announcement event, detailing CIFA's interdisciplinary composition including meteorologists, engineers, radar technicians, pilots, computer experts, and satellite specialists like Marcelo Módica from CONAE. He emphasized responding to increased public reports through rigorous analysis, not to prove extraterrestrial life but to uncover truths about unexplained phenomena. Mohaupt actively collaborated with Argentine ufologists such as Roberto Banchs, Alberto Brunetti, Carlos Alberto Iurchuk, Charles Fergusson, and Andrea Simondini, inviting them as advisors, fostering unprecedented government-civilian cooperation in South America.
