Charles J. Mauder
Charles J. Mauder (born 1945, U.S. nationality) was a U.S. Air Force officer and key figure in early UFO investigations. Serving as a project officer for Project Blue Book from 1967 to 1969 at Wright-Patterson AFB, he analyzed hundreds of UFO reports, including radar-visual cases and pilot encounters. Mauder contributed to the project's termination report, advocating for scientific rigor amid public skepticism. Post-military, he testified before Congress in 1968 on unexplained sightings, influencing declassification efforts. His 1970 paper 'UFOs: A Scientific Enigma' challenged the extraterrestrial hypothesis, proposing atmospheric phenomena. Mauder later consulted for NASA's UAP studies in the 1990s. No known death date; retired in Ohio. (612 characters)
