Clark Blanchard Millikan (August 23, 1903 โ€“ January 2, 1966) was an American physicist and engineer who served as director of the California Institute of Technology's Graduate Aeronautical Laboratories. A pioneer in aeronautical research, he contributed significantly to the development of multi-engine aircraft, jet propulsion, and guided missiles. Millikan was chairman of the board of JPL in its early days and received the Presidential Medal of Merit for his wind tunnel research during World War II.
