Desmond Leslie

Desmond Arthur Peter Leslie (1921-2001), British-Irish RAF Spitfire pilot during World War II, author, and electronic music pioneer, was a key early UFO researcher. He co-authored the seminal 1953 book 'Flying Saucers Have Landed' with George Adamski, providing a historical survey of UFO sightings from ancient texts like the Ramayana to modern events, including Adamski's Venusian contact claim. Leslie researched ancient vimanas, corresponded with esoteric figures like Meade Layne, and founded 'Flying Saucer Review' with Brinsley le Poer Trench. He lectured globally on extraterrestrial visitation, embracing a mix of interplanetary probes and spiritual phenomena. A cousin of Winston Churchill and heir to Castle Leslie, he remained committed to ufology until his death in Antibes, France.
