Edgar Mitchell
Edgar Dean Mitchell (1930-2016), a U.S. Navy officer, test pilot, aeronautical engineer, and NASA astronaut, served as Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 14 in 1971, becoming the sixth person to walk on the Moon in the Fra Mauro Highlands, spending 33 hours on the surface and collecting nearly 100 pounds of samples. After retiring from NASA and the Navy in 1972, he founded the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) to study consciousness, psychic phenomena, and paranormal research, including ESP and telepathy experiments during his mission. A prominent ufologist, Mitchell advocated for UFO disclosure, claiming government knowledge of extraterrestrial visits, and developed Quantum Holography Theory linking UFOs to consciousness modalities like remote viewing. He received awards like the Presidential Medal of Freedom and was inducted into the Astronaut Hall of Fame. His testimony pushed for transparency on UAP phenomena.
