Elmer Sutton
Elmer "Lucky" Sutton was a Kentucky farmer and the primary witness in the Kelly-Hopkinsville encounter of August 21, 1955. Living at a farmhouse near Hopkinsville, Kentucky, together with several family members, he reported being besieged for hours by small, luminous humanoid creatures.
Sutton and his family described encounters with unusual beings during the incident. The creatures had large eyes, pointed ears, and metallic-looking skin. The family fired shotguns at the beings repeatedly, reportedly with no effect, and the terrified witnesses fled to the Hopkinsville police station, where officers found evidence of gunfire but no creatures.
The Kelly-Hopkinsville case gained significant recognition in UFO history, becoming one of the most famous close encounter reports and often cited as a possible inspiration for the modern grey alien archetype.
