Elof Lindberg

Elof Lindberg was a Swedish Social Democrat Member of Parliament who played a notable role in early UFO investigation history. In the winter of 1936–1937, when reports of unidentified aircraft over Scandinavia prompted military concern, Lindberg advocated for civilian scientific investigation rather than military inquiry, which he suspected of embellishing reports to secure additional resources. Although Lindberg demanded the establishment of a commission to investigate these intrusions, his request was rejected by the Swedish Minister of Defence, who cited insufficient new facts and observations to warrant formal action.
