Fabio De Masi
Fabio De Masi (born 7 March 1980 in Groß-Gerau, Germany) is a German politician and, since July 2024, a Member of the European Parliament for the Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) party, of which he has been co-chair since December 2025. Alongside his work on financial crime (Wirecard, CumEx), he has distinguished himself as one of the first European parliamentarians to formally address UAP at the institutional level — through parliamentary questions, a speaking appearance at the 2025 Sol Foundation Symposium and a public call for a European UAP policy.
- MEP in the 8th parliamentary term (2014–2017) for DIE LINKE, member of the ECON committee and of the PANA inquiry committee (Panama Papers)
- Member of the German Bundestag (2017–2021) for DIE LINKE, known for his work on the Wirecard and CumEx scandals
- MEP again since July 2024 (10th parliamentary term) for BSW, co-chair of BSW since December 2025
- Parliamentary question E-001572/2025 to the European Commission on UAP in EU Space Law
- Parliamentary question E-002266/2025 on UAP, flight safety and security implications
- Speaker at the 2025 Sol Foundation Symposium at Lago Maggiore
- ExoMagazin interview in November 2025 calling for a coordinated European UAP inquiry
De Masi's significance for the UAP timeline lies in an institutional novelty: he moves the topic out of the space of private researchers and into the formal language of the European Parliament — through parliamentary questions that are archived and citable. Combined with his established profile as a financial-crime investigator, he gives the UAP debate in Europe a serious political flank that was previously missing.
