Flight Lt. Roman Sobiński
Flight Lieutenant Roman Konstanty Sobiński was a Polish pilot born on May 1, 1916, in Działoszyn near Pajęczno, Poland. He served in the Polish Air Force during World War II, achieving the rank of F/Lt with RAF service number P-1820/781142. Assigned to No. 301 Polish Bomber Squadron, Sobiński is renowned in UAP/UFO research for his eyewitness account of encountering a 'Foo Fighter'—an unidentified aerial phenomenon—over Holland in 1942. He reportedly fired upon the glowing orb, which evaded his shots and pursued his aircraft before vanishing. This testimony, preserved in video interviews such as those from Eyes On Cinema, marks one of the earliest military UFO encounters documented by a named pilot. No publications authored by Sobiński are known; his contribution stems from oral testimony linking WWII aerial anomalies to modern UAP studies.
