Francisco Guerreiro

Francisco Guerreiro is an independent Member of the European Parliament (MEP) representing Portugal, affiliated with the Greens/EFA political group. He holds a degree in Social Communication and has become a prominent advocate for the scientific and institutional study of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) in Europe.

Guerreiro has actively engaged in promoting UAP research within EU institutions. In March 2024, he organized the first coordinated meeting of European Union deputies on UAP research, which featured presentations from international ufologists and scientists. He has questioned the European Commission on UAP matters and delivered speeches during European Parliament Plenary sessions advocating for a harmonized EU reporting system and decreased stigma surrounding UAP research in aviation, military, and scientific sectors.

Guerreiro has submitted formal proposals to integrate UAP considerations into EU regulations. He formally submitted a Motion for Resolution (B9-0194/2024) to update EU Regulation on civil aviation reporting to include UAP incidents, and he proposed modifications to EU Space law integrating UAP considerations.
