Frank B. Salisbury

Frank Boyer Salisbury (1926-2015), American plant physiologist born in Utah, earned B.S. and M.A. from University of Utah, Ph.D. from Caltech (1955). Professor at Colorado State (1955-1966) and Utah State University (1966-1997), authored textbook Plant Physiology. UFO interest sparked by 1962 Science article on Martian biology, leading to 1967 BioScience paper 'The Scientist and the UFO'. Investigated Uintah Basin sightings with Joseph Junior Hicks, publishing The Utah UFO Display: A Biologist's Report (1974) detailing over 400 cases. Provided written statement to U.S. House Committee on Science and Astronautics UFO symposium. Maintained papers, audio-visual UFO research at Utah State archives.
