Frank Allyn Edwards (1908-1967) was an American journalist, broadcaster, and author renowned for popularizing UFOs and paranormal phenomena. Born August 4, 1908, in Mattoon, Illinois, he began his radio career in 1924 with KDKA in Pittsburgh, later hosting a national news program for the Mutual Broadcasting System sponsored by the AFL. In 1948, captivated by Donald Keyhoe's article 'The Flying Saucers Are Real,' Edwards discussed UFOs on air, authoring key books like 'Flying Saucers—Serious Business!' (1960), 'Flying Saucers—Here and Now!' (1967), 'Strange World' (1954), and 'Stranger Than Science' (1959). A contributor to Fate magazine and Board of Governors member of NICAP from 1957, he hosted the syndicated radio show 'Stranger Than Science.' Dismissed from Mutual in 1954 amid controversy, possibly over UFO mentions or labor disputes, Edwards died of a heart attack just before midnight on June 23, 1967—announced on June 24, fueling ufology myths tied to Kenneth Arnold's 1947 sighting.
