George Filer III

George A. Filer III is a retired United States Air Force Major and intelligence officer who became a prominent figure in UFO/UAP research and disclosure advocacy. During his military career, he encountered and investigated numerous unidentified aerial phenomena, including incidents during the Cold War in Europe, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the Vietnam War. Filer is a longtime member of the Disclosure Project and has served as Eastern MUFON Region Director and New Jersey State Director. He co-founded and independently runs the National UFO Center with Charles Warren. Filer has documented his experiences in multiple publications and appeared extensively in UFO documentaries. His accounts align with declassified military footage, including the 2017 Pentagon F-18 gun camera footage. In 2025, investigative journalist John Guerra published a detailed biography documenting Filer's four decades of UFO encounters and classified debriefings.
