
George F. Gorman
George F. Gorman (1922โ1982) was a pilot of the North Dakota Air National Guard at the rank of Second Lieutenant who flew a P-51 Mustang and participated in a cross-country flight with other National Guard pilots. On 1 October 1948, over Fargo, North Dakota, he conducted an aerial pursuit lasting roughly 27 minutes of an unidentified round, blinking luminous object โ the event that later entered early UFO history as the "Gorman Dogfight".

The case became formative for the work of Project Sign.
