Gray Barker (May 2, 1925 – December 6, 1984) was an American UFO writer and publisher from Braxton County, West Virginia. After earning a B.A. from Glenville State College in 1947, he worked as a teacher and theater booking agent. His interest in UFOs began in 1952 with the Flatwoods Monster investigation, leading to articles in FATE Magazine and Space Review. Barker popularized the Men in Black concept in his 1956 book They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers, based on Albert K. Bender's claims. He founded The Saucerian imprint and published newsletters collecting global contactee stories. Other key works include The Silver Bridge (1970) on Mothman and MIB: The Terror Among Us (1983). Though skeptical of most UFO claims, Barker engaged in hoaxes for profit and entertainment, influencing ufology and pop culture.
