Haim Eshed

Haim Eshed, born in 1933, is an Israeli former general and professor who headed Israel's space security program for nearly three decades. He holds degrees in electronics engineering and aeronautical engineering from Technion, and during his military service he led the highly secretive Unit 81 of the Military Intelligence Directorate. He served as director of space programs for nearly 30 years.

In December 2020, Eshed became internationally notable for his claims about extraterrestrial contacts. He claimed that the United States government has been in contact with extraterrestrial life and signed secret agreements with a "Galactic Federation," and he alleged the existence of a joint underground base on Mars. He also stated that President Donald Trump was aware of these matters but was prevented from disclosing them.

Eshed published his controversial claims in his book The Universe Beyond the Horizon despite widespread dismissal by Israeli space officials and NASA. His statements gained attention in the context of UAP discussions.
