Harold Butcher
Harold Butcher (1949–2000s) was an American witness to one of the most documented UFO incidents in New York history. At age 16, on August 19, 1965, Butcher reported observing a UFO landing on his family's dairy farm in Cherry Creek, New York. His initial sighting, which included radio static interference, was followed by a return visit witnessed by his entire family. The incident prompted investigations by New York State Police and the United States Air Force, led by Captain James Dorsey, who documented unexplained ground markings, a purplish liquid substance, and singed vegetation. Butcher's testimony remained consistent throughout his life; he appeared on the television program 'Sightings' in 1997 and was interviewed by UFO researcher Gal Ganske in the mid-1990s. The Cherry Creek case remains officially unexplained and is considered one of the most credible UFO landing reports in American history.
