Hayden C. Hewes (December 29, 1943 – September 13, 2017) was an American UFO researcher born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. As a teenager, he founded the International UFO Bureau (IUFOB) in Oklahoma City in 1957, which grew into a prominent organization involving law enforcement, scientists, and international witnesses investigating UFO sightings. Hewes witnessed a UFO himself on August 1, 1965, near El Reno, Oklahoma, observing a multicolored flashing light with highway patrolmen. Key achievements include leading the 1973 investigation into the 1897 Aurora, Texas UFO crash, seeking to exhume an alleged alien pilot's body, and directing Sasquatch Investigations of Mid-America, probing Bigfoot cases like the 1972 Momo sightings for UFO links. Holding a degree in aeronautical and space engineering, he authored books and articles on UFOs and paranormal phenomena, spoke on TV, radio, and in person, and worked as a talent agent and film instructor.
