Herbert S. Taylor

Travis Shane Taylor, born July 24, 1968, in Decatur, Alabama, USA, is an American scientist, engineer, and author specializing in aerospace and optical science. He earned multiple advanced degrees, including PhDs in optical science engineering and aerospace systems engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Taylor served as chief scientist for the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF) from around 2019, leading investigations into 144 UAP events for potential military threats as directed by Congress. He worked extensively with NASA, the Department of Defense, and U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (2007-2022), researching advanced propulsion, lasers, and intelligence systems.
