Howard Hawks was a witness to the USAF's statement on September 25, 1950, that there was "no support for UFO-hoax film 'The Thing'". He was an American film director, producer, and screenwriter (1896–1977) whose films include The Thing from Another World (1951), Scarface (1932), Bringing Up Baby (1938), and Rio Bravo (1959).
