Hugo F. Niotti

Hugo F. Niotti is an Argentine Air Force officer renowned for his UFO encounter on July 3, 1960, near Villa General Belgrano, Córdoba province. Then a captain assigned to the Air Force School for Sub-officers in Córdoba, Niotti photographed a conical object, approximately 7-8 meters tall and 3-4 meters in base diameter, hovering silently 80-100 meters away at about 10 kph southward. The 40-second silent sighting amid bad weather left him perplexed; he processed the film in Córdoba. Initially sharing with fellow officers, he submitted negatives to Revista Nacional de Aeronautica, which forwarded them to Servicio de Informaciones de Aeronautica. His career advanced unaffected, reaching vice-commodore by 1977. The photo features in UFO archives, though some label it a hoax.
