Jaime Maussan (born 1953) is a Mexican journalist and television presenter who counts among the most prominent — and most contested — figures in Latin American ufology. He hosts the long-running programme Tercer Milenio, organises international UFO conferences and has presented numerous alleged UFO videos and artefacts, including the "alien mummies" shown to the Mexican Congress in September 2023, which were subsequently sharply criticised by scientists.

  • Born 1953, Mexican journalist and television presenter
  • Host of the long-running programme Tercer Milenio
  • Organised multiple international UFO conferences

  • Including the controversial "alien mummies" shown at the Mexican Congress in September 2023
  • Presentations sharply criticised by scientists and repeatedly challenged in their authenticity
  • Central figure in debates over authenticity standards in ufology

For the UAP timeline, Maussan stands both for the broad reach of Latin American UAP culture and for the boundary problem of authentication: supporters credit him with raising UAP awareness across an entire language space, while critics see him as the textbook example of how dubious evidence can hijack public debate. For a sober timeline he remains indispensable — precisely because every false report becomes a test case for serious evidentiary standards.
