Lambros D. Callimahos
Lambros D. Callimahos (birth and death years unknown) was an Egyptian-born Greek cryptologist and NSA expert who served as a codebreaker in the U.S. Army during World War II. Before his military career, he achieved world renown as a flute virtuoso and was fluent in Esperanto. Callimahos authored numerous cryptographic textbooks, monographs, and technical studies. In the 1960s, he published influential NSA papers on extraterrestrial intelligence and communication protocols, including 'Communication with Extraterrestrial Intelligence' (1966) and 'Extraterrestrial Intelligence' (1966), which proposed using mathematics as a universal language for potential contact with alien civilizations. His work examined how advanced mathematical equations and radio frequencies could serve as a 'Rosetta stone' for interstellar communication. Callimahos also addressed preparedness for UFO phenomena and potential security implications.
