Lee Speigel is a US journalist who worked for the Huffington Post, specializing in UFOs and unexplained phenomena for over half a century. He grew up in Concord, New Hampshire, where he was inspired by the Apollo space missions, and established himself in New York City in the early 1970s.

Speigel has been a pioneer in UFO research and paranormal studies. He produced the CBS documentary record album UFOs: The Credibility Factor and hosted the Edge of Reality radio show on NBC Radio, producing nearly 1,500 programs. He also served as a feature writer for OMNI magazine on UFOs and cryptozoology, and renewed public interest in the 1947 Roswell UFO crash through radio reports.

In 1978, Speigel delivered the only UFO presentation in United Nations history. He served as an official member of the Grenadian UN delegation and organized the UN's first-ever meeting on UFOs under Grenada sponsorship. He was a key figure behind UN Resolution A/33/426 and brought together experts like J. Allen Hynek and Jacques Vallee.

Speigel continued his impactful work in later years. He joined AOL News in 2010, then moved to full-time work at the Huffington Post in 2011. He won the 2012 International UFO Congress Researcher of the Year Award, wrote hundreds of stories on unexplained phenomena, and collaborated with James Fox and other UFO investigators.
