Lt. Jack E. Myers
Lt. Jack E. Myers was a U.S. Navy lieutenant involved in early UFO investigations during the late 1940s and 1950s. In a letter dated December 28, 1955, to NICAP's Assistant Director Richard Hall, Myers described witnessing an unusual object approximately 35 feet in diameter and five to six feet wide at White Sands Proving Ground. The object exhibited anomalous flight patterns, sliding sideways like a wheel without rotating, suddenly stopping, and then ascending at a sharp right angle—maneuvers he deemed impossible for conventional aircraft as an engineer. This sighting, distinct from the well-known 1949 Charles B. Moore balloon incident at the same location, contributed to early military UFO reports.
